Need Long-Term Support

Refugee families arriving in Wisconsin face significant barriers to stability. Access to affordable housing in Milwaukee and surrounding areas is limited, creating immediate housing insecurity. Employment barriers include professional credential transfer challenges and language proficiency requirements that extend job search timelines.

English language acquisition is critical for employment, education, and community integration, yet comprehensive ESL programs with childcare support remain scarce. The integration process requires consistent multi-year support across housing, employment, healthcare, education, and social services.

Food Programs

We help refugees navigate food insecurity and unfamiliar food systems by providing culturally appropriate support. Through our Halal Food Pantry, partnerships with local Wisconsin farms and food organizations, and Qurbani meat distribution events, we ensure families have access to fresh, healthy, halal food. During Ramadan, we also host food and toy drives to support refugee families and help children celebrate Eid with joy
Immigration Services

Our Immigration Services support refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers through every step of the U.S. immigration process with compassion and care. As a USCIS-accredited organization, we provide culturally sensitive, affordable assistance with green cards, citizenship, family reunification, asylum cases, work authorization, and renewals, with referrals to legal partners when needed. With in-house interpreters and accredited representatives, we ensure clear communication, accurate guidance, & respectful service. Contact us at immigration@hananrrg.org for support.
Dr Ahmad Nasef Scholarship

Dr. Ahmad Nasef played an important role in Hanan Wisconsin. He was part of the founding committee of Hanan Wisconsin and was deeply passionate about helping others, especially refugees. Dr. Nasef was known by everyone for his cheerful spirit, humility, and kindness. Always positive and welcoming, he made a lasting impact on the community, helping to establish many businesses for refugees across Wisconsin. To honor his legacy, Hanan Wisconsin has established the Dr. Ahmad Nasef Scholarship, which supports refugee and immigrant students in Wisconsin. Education at Hanan

At Hanan, we provide ESL and adult education programs that help refugees build confidence and succeed in their new communities. Our services include on-site ESL classes, English-at-work programs in partnership with local employers, and one-on-one support for students from kindergarten through middle school through community partnerships and volunteers
Emergency Relief

We respond quickly to urgent needs that may fall outside major relief efforts, providing targeted support when it matters most. This includes medical and medication assistance, hygiene kits for newly arrived refugees, local refugee support during resettlement, and winterization aid such as coats, blankets, gloves, and other cold-weather essentials.
